I am a freelance illustrator who spends every day thinking about art, stories, drawing and illustration.

My work mixes digital with traditional techniques and drawing underpins everything that I do. I love experimenting with colour; and developing new characters and their environments. As a child I had a vivid imagination and my favourite activities were drawing, playing the piano, reading and dancing. Now I’m grown up I try my hardest not to lose that sense of wonder and imagination, to tap into it through my drawings and remember what it felt like to lose yourself in the pages of a great picture book.

I grew up surrounded by art and creativity, and lots of animals (6 cats, a dog). I have always drawn and wanted to be an artist ever since I was a little girl. I am inspired by the natural world, my favourite season is autumn, my favourite colour is turquoise and I live with a cat called Flower.

Having studied art and drawing all my life I went on to get a degree from the Kent Institute of Art and Design specialising in Illustration as well as a diploma from Tower Hamlets College in Commercial Graphics and Digital Illustration where I studied Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D and After Effects. I am currently studying my MA in children’s book illustration at Anglia Ruskin university in Cambridge.

I have spent over 10 years working in the Publishing industry specifically in children’s books where I was responsible for the Puffin Children’s book range at Penguin, 4th Estate at Harper Collins, the Colour and Activity range at Egmont Children’s books, amongst others.

I currently exhibit my art regularly in and around London and continue to pursue my love of the absurd, funny, fanciful and all things picture book.
